Computers and Life

Well I thought I would defeat the world gremlins and fix my computer while I was at work and download all the WoW stuff while at work so that I could play tonight. What happens I get home five minutes and bam I get a bug on my system that does some crazy stuff and I have to restore and reload WoW again.

Oooooo the irony of it all. I was so smart and the world slapped me down again.

I am the ptb's bitch.

End of July

Well we have survived another month and not much different other then my wife has saved us as far as money goes again. The mortgage company decided to jack up our mortgage based on our property taxes.

Property Taxes really pisses me off, here I am paying for children to go to school. Most of which who's families do not pay school taxes because they rent. I don't know these kids I won't live here when my kids get old enough to go to school but I still have to pay. And a damn nice amount I have to pay as well. Not fair not right.

On a better note on World of Warcraft I hit level 70 with my main druid which means I need to go to my other server and play my 46 with my friends from faire. They will like that I am around more often on that server. My best friend is losing his internet for a while which sucks because that is the only way we get to talk now a days.

Well here in a few minutes my wife and I will be going to albertson's to buy Harry Potter. My wife is a potter freak but I can't even seem to get throught the first book it is just so weak of a read that it bores me to read the books. i may in time have to read this to see why they are such a big deal. The funny thing is I really like the movies, perhaps for me that will tell the better part of the story so I can talk with my wife about here passion.

Good Morning

So I did a couple of updates to the Blog. First I added some new links to Paint Ball sites that mean something to me, as well I added a Friends section if you want to know what type of people I call friends. Warning its an intresting bunch.

Work is going ok other then we have lots of promised sales and not alot of money coming through the door. Once we close these sales things will look much better and roll like clock work. Until then its going to get bumpy again.

This is a short post today just wanted to hop on and get a couple things done this morning.

See ya soon.

Thanks to My Fighters

This is something I forgot to do during the run of faire. Send out a thanks to the people who I fought with this year, as well as a thanks to Bill Riddle our fight director.

Kit - You and I have to fight again next year, you make a person look great and your amazing athlete with awesome tumbling skills. I would like to have a more serious Fight with you next year to show case your talents more.

Kim - The crowd could not stop laugh at your antics on the board you gave a real feeling of fun to the fight, and they loved to see you beating on me with whatever was in your hands that day.

Rabbit - Your first year, your first fight, and a fine job you did. You did the one thing a fighter should always do, trust your partner. I am just glad i never broke your trust. Keep fighting your going to be a steady rock on the board.

Cathrine - you where amazing on the board and the crowd loves you. And the last day you where the highlight of our fight. You ruled the day then and there, I could not stand to the power that was you.

JR - You are one of the fastest people I have ever seen on the board. I think our fight was one of the best and a show case piece for sure. I am honored to have gotten to fight with you this year. by the way sorry about breaking your swords. Plural.

Thank you all, you made Chess Match a wonder this year and you made me look much better then I actually am on that board.

Oklahoma D-Day

Well I know I am slow about updating this thing but I am going to keep it and I am going to make it work. So what are we talking about today? Paintball more specifically we are talking about the largest game in the world.

Oklahoma D-Day
www.ddayadventurepark.com

This was one of the best four day outings I have ever been on in my life. We have the starts of a scenario paintball team named ODA 214 Spectres, a great bunch of guys. I went with four guys;

Glenn - The husband of one of my two best friends as well as a good friend of mine and our groups captain. He is the mastermind of the group and one of the most charismatic leaders I have had the pleasure to know in my life.

Jason - Is a friend of mine from Scarborough faire, he and I hit it off one day after me thinking for a year he disliked the hell out of me. Since I got passed the "I don't know you so why should I talk to you Jason" I have found one of the most kind friends you could have, a real heart of gold masked in a shield of lead. A smart man with a mind that thinks outside of the box.

Patrick - This guy is cool, I think I bother the hell out of him sometimes but over the last four years I have gotten to know him and respect him more then I think i let him know. Smart, damn this man is smart, and sharp with the wit. He is a valiant man and under fire one of the most calm and cool individuals I have met. Patrick's quote "Don't Raise Your Head" As I see paint balls flying over me.

David - The other big guy in the group, this man and I have a lot in common and I did not know it until the drive. I have know Dave for a while but its more at a distance. Always new him as a nice guy that meant well but did not understand. (He and I have had some headbutting in the past) Come to find out its because we took two different paths to solve the same problems and we both have turned out well on our paths and now both believe we are on the path that others should follow. I must say this man has deep thoughts that I would more like to just sit and listen to one day. Whether or not I agree with all of them.

So this is my Team and short thoughts on each one of them, I don't' have enough time or space to write more about them because they are each an amazing and dynamic individual.

So back to the point D-Day, Started on

Thursday for us with what had to be the worst rain and wind storm I have every camped through. Playing dry cloth's Jenga with the plastic boxes and the cloth bags was fun at 12:00, 3:00, and 4:30 when each major wave poured through and soaked our tent through and the outside of our tent was siting in two inches of water. This was after driving from Dallas, TX to northeast Oklahoma.

Friday we met our unit which was 82nd Airborne 505th Charlie Co. After AAA course that helped us with different types of cover and charge tactics. Working in groups moving forward at the jump, we had a great time and got to spend some awesome time meeting our fellow paintballers. By the way this made us awesome the next day.

Saturday - D-Day we where up and at it by 6:00 and on the road by 6:30 and broke down by 6:35 and marching to insertion, a mile and a half away through enemy lines. This was a bad start to a grand day. We had a battle plan, Hit sword beach by 10:30, Pegasus bridge by 11:30, Communications by 12:00, and Colliville by 1:00, then help take Omaha Beach. Well things went a little different then planned. We hit insertion at 9:00am game start, the German's seeing all of the 505th walk through their defence into our starting placement, went and got help and in the first charge annihilated us, the second charge was set of the day. When our CO said "for those of you that are Yankees, in the south there is a thing that was used in the civil war to scare the opponents called the Rebel Yell, I want you to get in there Scream at the top of your lungs rush the position then keep going, if they get in your way shoot them, if they don't pass them up we need to free up the armor from sword coast." That started the pace, and I as a big man was hard pressed to keep up with the game but i did. We where in Colliville the first time at 11:30am. The German's where routed by about 2:30 and the game was suppose to go till 5:00 that afternoon. Was the best thing for a new paint baller, being that this was my second game.

Sunday - We packed up earlier went home and had a great drive and conversation as we went.

I know no one reads this blog, but that's OK. Thanks guys for letting me tag along. It means a lot, even if I don't tend to tell people often enough.

Worn Out

I am worn out and it is starting to effect my job and daily life. I need to get some extra sleep soon and I need to get some weekends off soon or I am going to screw up somewhere. I am doing over all well at work right now but the weight of faire and work is starting to wear on me after three months of working seven days a week and ten hours a day. I love faire but I am going to have to limit myself to one faire a year period or I am going to start falling apart in life. Well I am going to go for now but talk with you all very soon.

My new World

Well I am going to start posting here again as of today. I am back at Ren Faire and having a good time. Right now I am in a Exalted game with Shado, Mike O Quinn, King Wamba, and SZalman. Life has taken some intresting but hard turns in the last year since I started playing. I now own a house and bought a new Suburban. I got a laptop from my mother, the first good laptop that I have owned. I will post later but welcome back world.
